Secure Your Tree

Refunds & Delivery

The honest small print.

Short version: fresh-cut seasonal goods can’t be returned on a whim — but if anything is genuinely wrong with your tree, we fix it.

Perishable seasonal goods

Christmas trees are cut to order and are perishable seasonal goods. Because of this, once your order is confirmed the legal 14-day 'change of mind' cancellation right for online purchases does not apply to live, cut trees (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, reg. 28 — goods liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly).

Please double-check size, species, and delivery address before paying. If you are unsure, message us first — we are happy to help before you order.

If something is wrong with your tree

Your statutory rights always apply. If your tree arrives damaged in transit, not as described, or is not of satisfactory quality, we will replace it or refund you — take a photo on the day of delivery and contact us within 14 days.

We check every tree before it leaves us and note its condition; we will assess photos against that record fairly.

Pre-order and delivery

Every order is paid in full when placed — your payment books the cutting slot and the delivery. Unpaid checkouts are removed after 24 hours and no tree is allocated for them.

We deliver between 17 November and 23 December. At checkout you pick at least 3 delivery days — the more the better, because we batch deliveries by area to keep trips efficient. We confirm the exact day by email; please make sure someone can receive the tree, or tell us a safe, sheltered spot.

Delivery is £7.50 within our zone, plus £1 per mile beyond it — the exact fee is shown in your checkout total before you pay.

January collection is an optional add-on charged at the standard delivery rate (£7.50 inside the zone, £1 per mile beyond) plus a £10 handling fee, paid with your order at checkout.

If no one is in when we deliver

If no one is available to receive the tree, the driver leaves it in the most suitable spot at the address — following any delivery notes you left. The tree is happy outdoors; we pick a sheltered, discreet place and confirm by email.

If you would rather the tree was never left unattended, tick “Consider rebooking if I'm not in” at checkout. If you are not in, we take the tree back and email you a secure link to pay the redelivery fee — our standard delivery rate (£7.50, plus £1 per mile beyond the zone), paid online, never at the door. Once it is paid, your tree goes back out in the soonest available delivery slot.

Delivery area

Our zone is Bedfordshire plus 7 miles past the county boundary, delivered for £7.50. Addresses further out are welcome — checkout calculates the extra mileage automatically at £1 per mile beyond the zone edge, up to a maximum of 50 miles outside the Bedfordshire border. We cannot take orders beyond that range — if the checkout shows your address as out of area, email admin@trees4u.co.uk before ordering.

Postcode lookups are provided by postcodes.io using the ONS Postcode Directory, and the zone boundary is derived from OS Boundary-Line, both under the Open Government Licence (© Crown copyright).

Changing your order

Before cutting begins for your booking we can usually adjust the species, size, or address — contact us as soon as possible and we will confirm what we can do.

The collection service may occasionally need to be withdrawn — for example an impassable address or unsafe site. If we cannot collect, we confirm in writing and refund the collection fee in full; all other terms of your order are unaffected.
